Existing soft-bottom earthen channel The project site is composed of various General Plan land use designations, including Federal, Mixed Use, and Park/Recreation/Open Space.
Document Description
The proposed project alignment generally follows the existing Heacock Channel starting at the intersection of Cactus Avenue and Heacock Street. It runs parallel to Heacock Street for approximately 9,800 lineal feet where it terminates at the recently improved Heacock Street Bridge at Perris Valley Channel - Lateral A. The proposed Project is aligned to follow the existing drainage pattern of the earthen Heacock Channel and will be designed to contain the 100-year flood discharge to reduce flooding impacts currently experienced by the residential, commercial, federal, public and privately owned properties within the vicinity of the Channel. Due to numerous site constraints and the limited area available for improvements, this approximately 9,800 lineal feet will be designed a fully concrete lined channel.
