Document Description
Caltrans is proposing to excavate percolation pits and two test wells in preparation to rehabilitate the water and wastewater systems at the Collier Safety Roadside Rest Area, located at the junction of (ZR) 96 and Interstate 5, in Siskiyou County. Two test wells will be drilled on each side of I-5, north of the Collier SSRA, while percolation test pits will be excavated between the Collier SRRA parking area and the right of way fence along southbound I-5. The drilling and excavation pits will provide the necessary data to determine the location of the proposed well and the location and the design of the proposed wastewater treatment system. The proposed activities will not acquire additional right of way and no work will take place within the floodplain. No tree removal is anticipated.
