Document Description
The projects would add evaporative coolers to two prison housing units at the CCC; the Sierra Unit and Cascade Unit. The coolers will be sized to maintain room temperatures in accordance with CDCR's Design Criteria Guidelines (DCG), which required indoor temperatures in prison housing units to be maintained below 90 degrees Fahrenheit (F). Existing air handlers in the Sierra and Cascade Units' corner equipment rooms will be used to provide the air movement in the ventilation mode. An evaporative cooling unit added to each of the 12 fresh air intakes at Sierra and at Cascade will provide cool air to the existing duct systems via the air handlers.
