Document Description
CDCR will install HVAC Units on Housing Unit I and II, utilizing existing ducting and supply/return registers. At each housing unit, the existing evaporative coolers on the roof will be removed and replaced with two 12.5-ton Air Handling Units (AHU) providing 4,000-cfm and two 7.5-ton AHU's providing 2,250-cfm in the housing unit. The AHU's will be equipped with gas heating coils to provide heat to the buildings. The existing electrical circuits and breakers will also be upgraded to support the new AHU's.
These projects are needed because the existing evaporative cooling systems at Housing Units I and II are inadequate to maintain adaquate temperatures in the ward housing units.
