Document Description
Cattle grazing will be used on the Tehama Wildlife Area for habitat improvement by altering the vegetation. This will encourage the growth of forbs, trees and shrub species which are utilized by the wintering eastern Tehama deer herd for food. Cattle will be turned out on the area during the winter and spring for four months. There are eight grazing allotments which have all the same management goals as stated above. The grazing period will be from January 15 to May 15 each year. The maximum animal units per month of cattle are 5,542 for the entire grazing period.
