Reasons for Exemption
CEQA Guidelines Section 15301 applies to the project that consists of the operation, repair, maintenance, permitting, leasing, licensing, or minor alteration of existing public or private structures facilities, mechanical equipment, or topographical features, involving negligible or no expansion or use beyond that existing at the time of the lead agencies determination. Examples include, but are not limited to: (a) interior and exterior alterations and (g) new copy on existing on and off-premise signs.
The establishment of the building wall sign, monument sign, awning lettering, and the new awning addition do not create any significant adverse effect on the environment and is categorically exempt per CEQA Section 15301 (a) and (g). As a result, no further CEQA review is required.
