Document Description
The Del Oro Water Company, Strawberry Water District has faced several years of low water levels in Herring Creek, the primary source supply for water. When flows in the creek are insufficient to convey to the treatment plant, Del Oro has to pump from the South Fork Stanislaus River to meet drinking water and fire flow requirements for the community. A diesel pump is placed above the river. The pumping is carried out between July-October in years when normal water diversions from Herring Creek are limited. Previous seasonal diversions were carried out in 2008 and 2012 and coordinated with the Tuolumne Utilities District, PG&E, Caltrans, and CDFW.
