Document Description
The District plans to expand its existing alternative school campus at 1050 Myrtle Street in East Palo Alto, CA 94303 by adding up to 12 classrooms capable of supporting up to approximately 150 students, one athletic court, paved parking areas, and a potential future gymnasium to an adjacent property, 980 Myrtle Street. The project site, 980 Myrtle Street, is an approximately 0.9 acre parcel of land that borders the existing alternative school campus. The site is bordered on the north, south, and east by existing school campuses; residences abut the site to the west. Historical land uses at 980 Myrtle Street have resulted in soil contamination (primarily metals and organochlorine pesticides such as DDT from agricultural operations. The District has entered into a Voluntary Cleanup Agreement with the DTSC to investigate and/or remediate hazardous substances at the site.
