Document Description
The project is the construction of a Type II Adult Detention Facility including a new facility and improvements to the existing Charlie Byrd Youth Correction Center facility. This project is smaller than the previously approved project to construct a similar facility at a different site. The CBYCC would be upgraded and used for special inmate populations, intake, visitation, laundry, kitchen, and staff and administration areas. The new facility would contain a total of 160 beds and would be located on an 84-acre parcel that also include the county fairgrounds.
