Document Description
Wright Solar Park, LLC (applicant) proposes to develop, own, and operate a 200-MW alternating current ground-mounted solar PV power plant located on leased and purchased agricultural lands in unincorporated Merced County, CA. Project components would include access roads, solar modules, tracker components, direct current to AC power inverters, medium voltage transformers, a medium voltage collection system, a project substation, and an interconnection switching station. In addition, the applicant proposes to construct a battery energy storage system as part of the project to aid in shaping and controlling the timing of energy production for the electrical grid. The applicant has files a CUP application with Merced County (CUP App. No. CUP12-017) for the project. The energy generated by the project could be sold to public utilities, municipal utilities, or large private consumers of power. The power generated by the project would be interconnected to existing PG&E power grid infrastructure for delivery to the purchaser of the power. The proposed project would have an operational lifespan of approximately 30-35 years.
