Document Description
The applicant proposes to renovate and expand an existing single-family residence on the Historic Register and add a detached single-family residence. The existing structure is identified on the City's Historic Resources Inventory as "E" for an "Exceptional" historic rated building. However, an Historic Resource Assessment indicates that this classification should be downgraded to a "K" rating because of several noted substantial alterations that have occurred. The existing historic two-story dwelling is 1,466 sf and includes a detached two-car garage. The lot is approximately 5,000 sf and has street frontage on both Ocean Way and Pearl Street. The project includes 1) a 73 sf addition to the existing historic structure and 2) construction of a new detached residence that is approximately 1,495 sf with an attached two-car garage and two-car carport.
