Document Description
The project includes the addition of a left turn lanes to provide dual left-turn lanes and a right-turn pocket along both the eastbound and westbound no approaches along PCH. To accommodate proposed improvements the length of EB PCH to be widened is approximately 535 feet (ft.), and the length of WB PCH to be widened is approximately 600 ft. On south leg of Hawthorne Boulevard, a NB right turn lane onto EB PCH is proposed. The EB PCH approach is going to be widened from 37 to 65 ft. The EB PCH (east of Hawthorne) would be widened from 37 ft. to 42 ft. The NB Hawthorne approach would be widened from 40 to 52 ft. Additional improvements include striping/signage, traffic signal modification, drainage improvements, utility relocations, and the rehabilitation of the existing pavement. The project also involves the future consideration of the potential acquisition of any right-of-way necessary to install these improvements.
