Document Description
The Department of Toxic Substances Control has issued an Emergency Permit to MCAS Miramar to treat hazardous waste by open detonation. The items to be treated are one (1) 20 mm M21A1 AP, seven (7) 20 mm M220 TPT, one (1) .50 caliber M20 APIT, two (2) .50 caliber M8 API, six (6) .50 caliber M33 Ball, one (1) 30 mm Mk 76 practice bomb and (1) hand grenade. The items were recovered by local civilian Fire Department. MCAS Miramar Explosive Ordinance Disposal Personnel have determined that, due to their condition, the items are considered unsafe for shipment.
