Document Description
The Project will excavate and approximately 14-foot long, 8-foot wide, and 8-foot deep trench within the bed and banks of Vineyard Creek to expose an existing natural gas pipeline for inspection and repair as needed. Once the excavation is approximately 3.5 feet deep, shoring will be installed to prevent the excavation from collapsing. Prior to construction, an approximately 100-foot long and 15-foot wide (0.034 Acres) area will be isolated from the active channel. The isolated area will allow a small rubber tracked elevator and construction personnel to access the site. The excavator will access the channel from the top of bank approximately 60 feet upstream of the proposed dig site. Equipment and excavation spoils will be staged above the top of bank in the adjacent upland area. All work will occur when there is no or low flow in the active channel. Two multi-stemmed willow trees will be trimmed for equipment access. Issuance of a Streambed Alteration Agreement Number 1600-2013-0270-R3 is pursuant to Fish and Game Code Section 1602.
