Document Description
The OSA manages more than 12,000 acres throughout its jurisdiction. The Grazing Management Policy (GMP) would apply to open space preserve lands within this area, and would be used to conserve biodiversity, while protecting watersheds and water quality, cultural resources, scenic and aesthetic values, and recreational opportunities. The GMP would be used to guide the overall planning, budgeting, and decision making processes for grazing of OSA lands. The suitability and scope of implementation of a specific GMP for such lands will be determined on a site- or issue- specific basis given the circumstances and conditions to be addressed. Therefore, the GMP will be implemented through site-specific management plans or prescriptions consistent with this policy, subject to appropriate environmental review.
