Document Description
The objective of the proposed project is to provide water pollution control from uncontained releases of effluent from antiquated and inadequate septic systems in the Anderson Springs community. This has led to wastewater pollution control issues for the creeks flowing through the community, most notably, Anderson Creek. The project proposes to utilize what is known as a Septic Tank Effluent Pump (STEP) pressurized sewer system for waste removal. The components of this system are a hybrid of an on-site treatment and disposal system and a community gravity sewer. STEP systems continue to use on-site septic tanks to remove grit and solids and provide initial biological treatment for the wastewater. The liquid portion of the waste will be transported through a two-inch effluent lateral to a four-inch sewer main line and to the WWTP for treatment.
