The purpose of the project is to test the different erosion control methods on historic mine tailing piles at the Tesla Complex within the Carnegie SVRA. The mine tailing piles at the Tesla Complex are potentially erosive and erosion control measures are needed to protect water quality and to preserve the piles. To evaluate the effectiveness of which erosion control method is most effective, three different applications will be tested then monitored for established vegetation within test plots on the mine tailing piles.
