Document Description
The proposed project invovles fuel management activities within the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Mount Sutro Open Space Reserve (Reserve) to remove excessive flammable vegetation in close proximity to structures, a condition which poses a fire hazard. The proposed project would remove trees less than 6 inches in stem diameter, thin shrubs, and mow non-woody perennial plants within "defensible space areas" within 100 feet from structures. In total, the project area includes approximately 15 acres, and about 1,250 trees less than 6 inches in stem diameter would be removed.
