Document Description
The project is limited to the removal of accumulated sediment along a 950-linear foot segment of stream. The roadside stream at this location along Frei Road is a captured ephemeral stream which exhibits more natural stream characteristics above and below the roadside segment. The roadside section of the stream is a natural deposition area with upstream residential and agricultural development contributing the stream's excess sediment load. The sediment removal will restore the capacity of the stream and alleviate roadway flooding. If water is present in the stream at the time of project operations, a coffer dam and settling basin will be constructed on the downstream end of the channel in order to prevent sediment from traveling downstream.
