Document Description
The East H Street basin is one of several stormwater basins designed to control and treat runoff from the South Bay Expressway (also known as State Route 125 South). Currently, it is estimated that approximately 1,000 cubic feet of silt has accummulated within the East H Street basin and its functionally has been diminished. A one-time maintenance event is necessary to remove the sediment and vegetation and restore the basin to its original capacity and enable maintenance responsibility to transition to the City of Chula Vista. The activity would remove vegetation and sediment from a 0.6 acre area. Vegetaion would be trimmed with small weed removal equipment and hand tools. A skip loader tractor would remove the debris. The sediment would be removed using an excavator and hauled off-site for disposal. A grading tractor would be used to final grade site back to baseline conditions.
