Document Description
The project is a grant award to the County of Los Angeles to propose the development of a County Renewable Energy Ordinance and prepare a programmatic Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the ordinance. The goal of the project is to expand renewable energy opportunities in the County while at the same time implementing the conservation goals of the Desert Renewable Energy Conservation Plan. The project benefits the public by adding certainty to the eligible renewable energy resource development process, thereby reducing the development costs for renewable energy, ensuring conservation of priority natural resources, and contributing to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions from the electric power sector.
