Document Description
State Housing Element Law (Government Code Section 65580 et seq.) mandates that local governments must adequately plan to meet the existing and projected housing needs of all economic segments of the community. Yolo County last updated its Housing Element in 2009, as part of the updated 2030 Yolo Countywide General Plan. The current Housing Element covered a five-year planning period from June 30, 2008, to June 30, 2013. The 2013 Housing Element is a comprehensive review and update of the 2009 Housing Element background information and goals, policies, and programs. The new Housing Element covers an eight-year planning period from October 31, 2013, to October 31, 2021.
