Document Description
The Mendocino County Department of Transportation, in conjunction with Caltrans and FHWA propose replacement of the Muir Mill Bridge (Bridge # 10C-0137) over Baechtel Creek in Mendocino County. The existing timber bridge was built in 1960, and is now in rapid decay. The replacement bridge will be a single span, 22 feet wide by 40 feet long, reinforced-concrete slab bridge. In addition, the roadway approaches to the bridge on both ends will be widened to accommodate two 9-foot wide traveled lanes with 2-foot wide unpaved shoulders on each side. A short detour just west of the bridge will be constructed with a temporary creek crossing to be using during construction of a new bridge.
