Document Description
A Precise Development Plan to allow a truck parking facility with an associated enclosed truck repair building pursuant to Sections 19.36.020.E.2 and 19.36.020.D.5 of the Kern County Zoning Ordinance, respectively. As proposed, the facility would serve as a staging yard for 20 trucks with trailers (refrigerated units and flatbeds) to transport general commercial goods locally, regionally, and nationally. In addition, an existing 2,000 sf building will be utilized for minor truck repairs. Hours of operation for the trucking operation would be 24 hours a day, with truck repairs occurring between 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Depending on where the delivery is scheduled, drivers may arrive at any hour for departure and may not return for several days. However, the majority of deliveries will take place Monday through Friday with most trucks on site during the weekend. Trucks will not be allowed to idle overnight; however, refrigerated trailer units will operate automatically to maintain temperature control. Water would be provided by a private water well, while sewage disposal is proposed by an on-site septic system which would require the granting of an exception to the sewer policies of the Metropolitan Bakersfield General Plan.
