Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife is issuing a permit to Connie Rutherford pursuant to Fish and Game Code section 2081(a) for a project to conduct seed conservation activities for Scott's Valley polygonum (Polygonum hickmanii). Project activities include: (1) collecting seed over a three-year period; (2) bulking seed at the UC Botanical Garden for long-term storage and future research; (3) conducting a soil seed bank analysis at the existing and historical occurrences; and (4) if a resident seed bank appears to be present, undertake population enhancement through supplemental watering of a subset of colonies within the populations.
