Verizon Wireless proposes to construct a communications tower and associated facilities within a 30 foot by 40 foot area on Point Reyes Hill adjacent to existing communication facilities in an area zoned "Radio Range Station" on Point Reyes Hill in Point Reyes National Seashore. The proposed communications tower would be a single, free-standing, steel monopole 45 feet tall. Supporting equipment for the tower would include 12-foot by 20-foot pre-fabricated metal building 10 feet high, placed on a concrete pad housing radio and switching equipment with a standby diesel-powered generator. A total of 3,500 sf would be disturbed during construction. Additional description is provided in the attached scoping letter.
