Document Description
The project consists of a request for a CUP (PL12-0141) to authorize the construction and use of a facility for inherently dangerous animals, known as the Lockwood Animal Rescue Center (LARC). The 10.5 acre project site will be located on a 20 acre parcel. The existing structures include a 1,850 sf barn, 480 sf animal shade structure, 5,000 gallon water tank, 340 sf storage container and various fenced animal pens and horse corrals. The applicant proposes to construct a new 22.7-foot tall 2,290 sf animal shade structure, 23-foot tall 2,997 sf storage barn, 5,000 gallon water tank, and a 9,600 sf fenced pen. All pens will be constructed with 11-guage chain link fence, and will range in height from 8 to 10 feet with a two foot turned top at a 45 degree angle, facing inward. Each pen will have double entry gates, an internal security gate and an external perimeter gate. In addition, an 8-foot tall secondary perimeter fence will be constructed around the entire project site.
