DTSC is considering approval of a Removal Action Workplan (RAW) for the proposed Metropolitan Housing Project (hereafter "the Site") pursuant to Health & Safety Code, Division 20, Chapter 6.8 as submitted on June 11, 2013 by Leighton and Associates on behalf of the Anaheim Housing Authority (AHA). The RAW addresses and proposes remediation for elevated levels of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), particularly tetrachloroethylene (PCE) and trichloroethylene (TCE) in soil vapors at the Site. Site investigations found soil vapor contamination that is associated with an offsite source historical and current Site use. DTSC is overseeing cleanup at the Site under a Voluntary Cleanup Agreement (Docket No. HSA-VCA 11/12-102) with the AHA and with Leighton Associates as the project consultant.
