Document Description
Diakont's new prototype multi-channel scanning electromagnetic acoustic transducer (MS-EMAT) technology will perform comprehensive remote in-line inspection of gas pipeline girth welds. The technology inspects for latent defects remaining from construction, and also for operational defects. The project will demonstrate and aid in commercialization of Diakont'sMS-EMAT sensor for inspection of pipelie girth welds. Anomalies detected will include: incomplete fusion, burn-through, slag inclusions, cracks, undercutting, excess reinforcement, porosity defects, and lack of penetration.
