The LUPA Is a long-range plan whose purpose Is to enhance existing environmental and scenic opportunities at the Regional Shoreline, while providing additional recreational and Interpretive opportunities for park visitors. Among Its 25 major recommendations, the LUPA envisions a new section of the San Francisco Bay Trail on the bay shoreline; new picnic areas and facilities; new parking areas, restoration of trails on the ridge line, the dredging of the lagoon to improve water quality and habitat, and the renovation or the historic pump house building for passive Interpretation.
