Document Description
The proposed project consists of improvements to flood control infrastructure, water quality, wildlife habitat, aesthetics, and recreational opportunities at Oxford Retention Basin. The project includes, but is not limited to replacing existing tide gates; excavating accumulated sediment from the bottom of the basin; removing contaminated soils along the basin perimeter and replacing it with clear imported fill; removing and replacing existing fencing; retrofit existing catch basin; constructing a new 2-foot high concrete parapet wall along the basin's northern and western rim, a new vegetated circulation berm, bio-retention systems, maintenance access ramps, observation areas, a walk/jog path with wildlife-friendly lighting, benches, trash receptacles, and interpretive signage around the perimeter of the basin; removing and replacing existing vegetation, including removal of approximately 650 trees and replacement with over 650 trees.
