Caltrans is purchasing, with State funds and a federal grant, a high-efficiency street-sweeper to be implemented as a mobile Best Management Practice (BMP). This will help to reduce fine particles from urban roadways entering Lake Tahoe, and aid in decreasing nutrient loading and achieving sediment reduction goals in TMDL date 16 Aug 2011.
