Document Description
Note: MND/EA One build alternative, the removable span alternative, meets the purpose and need of the project. The alternative would construct a new four-lane removable span bridge and demolish the existing bridge. The proposed replacement bridge would be located about 40 feet upstream and to the west of the existing Navy Drive Bridge. The proposed bridge would incorporate a center navigation channel that provides 80 feet of horizontal clearance1, 15 feet of vertical clearance at Mean High Water, when closed, and unlimited vertical clearance in the open position. Final operating regulations would be proposed by the Coast Guard once the replacement bridge is built and the existing bridge has been removed from the waterway.
