Document Description
The project site is on 14 acres of NID and County property including staging areas. The reservoir was built and put in operation in 1960's and has an original capacity of 96.9 acre-feet. Since then sediment has deposited in the reservoir which has decreased its capacity. The project proposes to remove the sediment from the reservoir (an estimated 40,000-70,000 cubic yards) to restore its original capacity. The removed sediment will be temporarily deposited near the reservoir for dewatering, and will then be transported and used for suitable fill material. The project estimated to take four to six months to complete. The proposed project area is located in Nevada County just east of the county airport.
