Document Description
The intent of the project is to remove Tower 4 of the Navy's Measured Mile Course, located adjacent to Torrey Pines Golf Course within Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve. This ca. 1927 metal lattice structure, owned by the Navy, has been rendered obsolete due to modern vessel speed calibration technology. The Navy intends to disassemble and remove the tower as part of its footprint reduction program aimed at reducing facility maintenance costs.
