Document Description
The University of California (UC) proposes to design and implement stabilization measures into an active landslide at the main Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) site. The one-ace site is on a steep LBNL hillside and has moved a few feet during the 2012-2013 rainy season; it threatens to fail should it be subject to future heavy rainfall. The stabilization measures would include some or all of the following: remove unstable soil; regrade portions of the site; drilll piers to "pin" down the slide to underlying strata; improve surface drainage; and revegetate with native plants and ground cover.
