Document Description
American Rivers is requesting $75,000 in funding from the Sierra Nevada Conservancy's Proposition 84 Preservation of Ranches and Agricultural Lands Grant Program for funding to conduct pre-restoration forage monitoring, identify best management practices (BMP) for grazing, collect data to support the U.S. Forest Service's (USFS) development of a site-specific management plan, and prepare environmental documentation and permitting on USFS managed land in Alpine County. The proposed project would collect pre-restoration forage data to calibrate a meadow restoration forage model, prepare a monitoring report, and identify BMP's centered around grazing on the restored site resulting in a site-specific grazing management plan to be implemented by USFS.
