Document Description
The Phase 4 Project is an extension of Phases 1-3 of the City of Ukiah’s Recycled Water System (RWS). Phase 4 was developed to offset urban irrigation potable water demands and reduce treated wastewater discharges to the Russian River. To meet these goals, the project requires upgrades at the City of Ukiah Water Treatment Plant (UWTP), the City of Ukiah Wastewater Treatment Plant (UWWTP), and the construction of a new recycled water pipeline. The Project includes the following major project elements 1) UWWTP & Advanced Wastewater Treatment (AWT) System Improvements, 2) New 5 MG Treated Effluent Storage Pond at the UWWTP Including the installation of a new pump at the Carousel Pump Station, Storage Pond Pump Station, and associated infrastructure, 3) New 2 MG Storage Tank and Pump Station at the UWTP, and 4) Recycled Water Distribution System including installation of approximately 3 miles of pipeline, replacement of an existing pedestrian bridge over Orr Creek, customer meters and connections, and minor utility relocations.

The Project is located throughout the City of Ukiah in Mendocino County in the northern coastal region of California. The City is situated in the Ukiah Valley approximately five miles south-west of Lake Mendocino and is surrounded by coastal ranges in southern Mendocino County. Ukiah Valley is bordered on the west by the Mendocino Range and on the east by the Mayacamas Mountains. The Project generally follows Interstate Highway 101 which runs north to south through the City along its eastern boundary.
