Document Description
The former United Molasses (UM) leasehold is located in Contra Costa County on the Point San Pablo peninsula which juts into the San Francisco Bay, on the northwest tip of Richmond, CA. UM (and its predecessors) operated at the site from 1936 to 1993. The property was used for the production and warehousing of molasses and other agricultural products such as coconut oil, lignin liquor, linseed oil, tallow and various types of molasses. Caustic soda and liquid fertilizer were also stored on-site for third parties.
