Document Description
The proposed Arcata Rail with Trail Connectivity Project involves construction, operation & maintenance of an approximately 4.5 mile long Class I, ADA accessible, non-motorized, multiuse, paved trail. The northern 3.25 miles of the project are located in the City of Arcata & the southern 1.25 miles are located in the County of Humboldt. The proposed project will run from northern Arcata (Larson Park), through the City & Arcata Marsh & Wildlife Sanctuary & along the eastern edge of Humboldt Bay south to the Highway 101 & Bracut intersection. The trail will be along or within the NCRA ROW, a portion of the western Highway 101 corridor, City-owned ROW, & cross private property. There will be a northern trailhead at Larson Park & southern trailhead north of the Bracut intersection. Safety features include fencing, physical barriers, signage and striping.
