Document Description
The project objectives are to reduce the existing fire hazard and improve fire suppression capabilities by reducing fuels around the north and west edges of the Johnsondale community. Surface vegetation has accumulated to high levels near the developed area, where there are numerous structures and seasonal/permanent inhabitants. The Tulare County RCD has received a grant from the U.S. Forest Service through their Resource Advisory Committee to assist the landowner with implementation of this project in 2013. The project is identified as a priority project in the Tulare County Community Wildfire Protection Plan.
