Document Description
The project shall replace an existing 22-inch-in-diameter gas pipeline with a 36-inch-in-diameter steel pipeline along an approximately 1.17-mile long stretch to allow the passage of internal inspection equipment. Beneath Irvington Creek, replacement of the pipeline will use horizontal directional drilling (HDD) construction methodology at a minimum depth of 50 feet beneath the bottom of the channel bed. Outside of the riparian area in highly disturbed residential and industrial areas, the pipeline expansion shall be completed using a combination of open trench excavation and HDD construction methods.
