Document Description
The project will restore an intermittent drainage on the east-side of Black Hill at Morro Bay State Park by removing invasive cape ivy and dead vegetation and by planting native willows. In the approximately 1000 feet long and 60 feet wide project area, work will: * Using hand crews, remove at least 85% of the downed or dead eucalyptus branches and rounds from the project area and stockpile for decomposition, chipping, burning or removal * Using hand crews, remove at least 50% of the invasive Cape Ivy in the project area and stockpile on site for decompostion * Install erosion control devices such as straw waddles or willow fascines every 50 feet up the drainage to slow runoff and soil degradation * Plant up to 100 willow poles or shoots in the low lying wetland adjacent to State Park Road

Minor public altrations in the condition of land and vegetation which does not include the removal of healthy, mature, scenic trees except for forestry purposes, included as "resource management projects" in the Department of Parks and Recreation's list of exempt activities in accordance with CCR Section 15300.4 and the project does not exceed five acres in size to assure the maintenance, restoration, enhancement or protect of habitat for fish, plants or wildlife.
