Document Description
The purpose of the project is to demonstrate the feasibility of using dry wells as a tool for cost-effective low impact develop (LID) solutions to control urban runoff for different land uses. The City of Elk Grove (City), other jurisdictions and stormwater professionals have a concern that allowing stormwater to enter dry wells could introduce contaminants into the aquifer. Existing studies do not indicate this would be the case; however the previous studies all have different limitations. This project will provide vital data to the City and others giving greater confidence that the use of dry wells will not compromise drinking water.
