Document Description
Caltrans proposes a safety project using State and Federal funds to improve surface drainage along the Northbound (NB) lanes of Interstate 5 (I-5) in Shasta County, just south of the Gilman Road interchange from post mile 36.2 to post mile 37. This section of roadway has an alternating cross slope, which in combination with the 6% down grade creates a condition where surface run-off can flow down the center of the lanes before it leaves the roadway. The proposed project will improve surface drainage by modifying the cross slope of the roadway and increasing the the radius of the alignment.
