Document Description
To address safety deficiencies at Stampede Dam, U.S. Bureau of Reclamation has selected a structural alternative to increase the height of Stampede Dam and Stampede Dike by 11.5 feet and install two additional saddle dikes to protect outflow from topographic low spots along the south rim of the reservoir from the increased maximum capacity of the reservoir during a probable maximum flood. Suitable sources of borrow material sites were located near project features and will be used for construction. Other project elements include haul routes (located on already disturbed areas where feasible), staging areas, stockpiling areas, and log landings for use in clearing vegetation. Up to a total of 80.4 acres could be disturbed by the project.
