Document Description
The proposed project would allow WRD to offset the current use of imported water with a combined total of 21,000 AFY for groundwater replenishment in the Central Basin via the Montebello Forebay. WRD would construct an AWT plant for advanced treatment of the tertiary treated recycled water from the San Jose Creek Water Reclamation Plant (SJCWRP) prior to recharge via spreading. Influent/effluent diversion structures would be constructed to connect the AWT plant to the existing outfall pipeline to allow the advanced treated water to be blended with the tertiary treated recycled water prior to spreading at the Montebello Forebay Spreading Grounds. Additionally, a proposed brine line would be constructed to extend underground from the AWT plant within the San Gabriel River Parkway and connect with an existing sewer pipeline in Beverly Road.
