Kern County has prepared a DEIR for conditional use permit to allow for the expansion of the existing 300-acre Kern County Lerdo Detention Facility. The on-site expansion area is approximately 26.5 acres and includes vacant land adjacent to the existing facility and additional undeveloped land for wastewater disposal immediately south of Lerdo Highway. The project is located at 17801 Industrial Farm Road, east of SR 99 and West of SR-65.
