- The project is between the City of Arcata and HBMWD pipeline at Aldergrove Road. the project is located at the east end of Aldergrove Road at the intersection of Aldergrove Road and Ericson Way in Arcata. The basic intertie includes the installation of a 12-inch diameter Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pipe, which would connect HBMWD's existing 33-inch diameter concrete lined steel pipe and the City of Arcata' 12-inch asbestos cement pipe (ACP). A water meter and valves would also be installed at the connection for operation and tracking of delivered water volumes. A chlorination facility with a basic building on a slab, and a pre-engineered sodium hypochlorite tank, metering pump, controls, and an injector will be installed on the city's existing parcel. The connection would require approximately 920 linear feet of 12-inch PVC.
