Document Description
The Califonria Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) is proposing to demolish and replace two existing boilers at the CIW. The boilers are located within the existing boiler building, which was constructed in 1993/94. The proposed project would improve the functionality and energy efficiency of the existing boiler system by meeting expected steam usage and complying with South Coast Air Quality Mamagement District regulations. The scope of work would include all materials and equipment necessary to demolish two of the three existing boilers and replace them with two 500 Housepower (HP) boilers, which would bring nitrogen oxides (NOx) emissions down to 5 parts per million (ppm).
